NEWTON, MA — Ghosts, goblins and witches are taking over Newton — one storefront at a time.

Nearly 500 students in grades three through eight will grab their brushes and bring Halloween magic to more than 150 storefronts across seven Newton village centers on Saturday, Oct. 24, for the city's 27th annual Halloween Window Painting Contest.
