Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza Opens in Newton
The new location is the chain's latest as it expands into Massachusetts.
NEWTON, MA â A year after plans to expand into Newton, Florida-based pizza chain Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza will open on Needham Street.
Last year, the company announced an aggressive expansion into the Bay State, with planned locations in Reading, Northborough, Littleton and Newton following the opening of its Westwood restaurant in 2015. Newton's location is now Anthony's fifth in Massachusetts, according to Eater Boston.
Anthonyâs unique pizzas take four minutes to cook and are coal-fired at 800 degrees (hence the name). In addition to the authentic pizzas, the restaurant serves oven-roasted chicken wings, homemade meatballs, salads and Eggplant Marino, a nod to NFL Hall of Famer and restaurant backer Dan Marino.
