Armed Robbery at Convenience Store: Police
A man allegedly robbed a Newton convenience store with a knife.

NEWTON, MA - A robber allegedly held a knife to the throat of a convenience store clerk before making away with cash and cigarettes, according to police.
Police responded to a report of a robbery with a knife at Yogurt Beach Convenience Store on Watertown Street Wednesday, police said.
An employee told police he was standing behind the cash register when the suspect walked up to the counter and held a knife to his throat demanding money, police said.

Police said the suspect grabbed money from the cash tray and three packs of Newport 100s before running away. The suspect fled on foot, making a left on Watertown Street toward Linwood Street, police said.
The suspect is described as a white male between the ages of 18 and 25 and about 5-foot-10 with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a green jacket and a dark-colored baseball cap at the time of the robbery, according to police.Â
