Friends of the Newton Free Library Book and Author Luncheon
29th annual luncheon at the Newton Marriott on Friday May 10. Sponsored by the Friends of the Newton Free Library.
The 29th annual Friends of the Newton Free Library Book and Author Luncheon will be held on May 10, 2013. The authors this year are William Landay and Randy Susan Meyers. Enjoy a Chicken, Salmon, or Vegetarian lunch at the Newton Marriott Hotel, 2345 Commonwealth Avenue at Route 128 starting with a cash bar at 11:30, with luncheon and speakers from 12 noon to 2:45 pm. New England Mobile Book Fair will have copies of the authors books for sale and the authors will be signing books.
William Landay is the author of the New York Times bestseller Defending Jacob (set in Newton), The Strangler, a Los Angeles Times Favorite Crime Book of the Year, and Mission Flats, winner of the Creasey Memorial Dagger Award for Best First Crime Novel and a Barry Award nominee. A former district attorney who holds degrees from Yale and Boston College Law School, Landay lives in Newton, where he is at work on his next novel of suspense.

Randy Susan Meyers is the author of The Comfort of Lies (Feb 2013) and The Murderer’s Daughters (January 2010//St. Martin’s Press.) Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Randy now lives in Boston with her husband, where she teaches writing seminars for Grub Street Writer’s Center, and is the mother of two grown daughters.

The Murderer’s Daughters was named a “Must Read Book,” and one of the “2011 Ten Best Works of Fiction” by the Massachusetts Book Awards and named a best book pick by Elle France, Daily Candy, The Boston Herald, The Winnipeg Free Press, Goodreads, and Book Reporter, among others.
Meyers’ new novel, The Comfort of Lies, explores the collateral damage of infidelity, the difficulty of balancing motherhood, marriage, and work, and the dark, private struggles many experience, but rarely reveal.
The price for the luncheon is $45 per person. Sponsorships are $75 and $100.
