Support Women's Health: Participate in the Share Mayflower's Campaign
Participate in the Share Mayflowers Campaign, a month long discussion on advocating and bringing awareness to women's health.

What's Share Mayflowers? As Jessica McKinney, Founder of Share Mayflowers and Director of the Center for Women’s Health at Marathon Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, states,
“…Share MayFlowers is for women who are strong and who are looking for strength, for women who are inspirational and looking for inspiration, women who can rock out and those who still want to be rock stars when they grow up! Because despite the advances in women’s health in our country… too many people still squirm at the mention of female genitalia and too many women wait too many years before seeking care for pelvic health issues such as urinary incontinence and pelvic pain. “
Share Mayflowers brings the light on topics that women are too embarrassed to talk about, yet they are common issues that impact a significant amount of women each and everyday.

Here are some startling facts:
- Urinary incontinence affects 13 million Americans, 85% of whom are women.
- It is estimated that 50% of women will have urinary incontinence at some point in their lifetime.
- Chronic pelvic pain disproportionately affects women 4:1 with research indicating that its prevalence is on par with that of chronic lower back pain and asthma.
- Despite reports of 1 in 3 women experiencing a pelvic floor disorder, prevalence of all forms of pelvic floor disorders – pelvic pain, urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse – is believed to be underestimated due to delayed or neglect of care seeking and reporting.
- Collectively, pregnancy and childbirth are the single greatest factor in lifetime risk of developing urinary incontinence, and developing urinary incontinence for the first time while pregnant is the single greatest predictor in ongoing postpartum urinary incontinence.
Everyday in the month of May, a blog post will be published on a women’s health topic centered upon the following themes:
