The following are excerpts from the Newton Police Department log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A Brookline man is facing charges after police say he threatened them, and threatened a mail carrier while she delivered mail on her route on Chestnut Street in Newton.
Mcisaac A. Calixte, 29, 22 High St., Apt. 30, Brookline, was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace, threats to commit a crime, assault and battery on a police officer and assault with a dangerous weapon (shod foot).
On Monday, May 4, a Newton officer passed the intersection of Highland Street and Chestnut street, and saw a black man (who was later determined to be Calixe) walking north on Chestnut Street. As the officer passed, Calixe looked in his direction and made shooting gestures to him.

The officer continued down Chestnut to turn around when he was flagged down by a mail carrier who was red-faced and crying. The mail carrier said she was about to say âhiâ to Calixe when he suddenly said, âYou no good, you no good, you f----- p----- b-------,â while in a slightly-bouncing motion. Calixe continued walking by and performed a hand gesture as if pulling the trigger of a gun at her. She said she was delivering mail at the time and it immediately halted her progress.
Because of the gestures made to the police and mail carrier, another unit was called in for backup before attempting to speak to the man. Several units were quickly on the scene, but when officers attempted to speak with Calixte, it was either ignored or it was met with hostile language.â
