Artists' Bios:
Maria Maksakova is a renowned Russian-Ukrainian opera singer (mezzo-soprano) and former Russian parliament member. Born into a legendary performing arts dynasty, she faced intense political exile, relocated to Ukraine, and has since continued her international singing career. She has performed over 25 leading roles with prominent opera companies, including the Bolshoi Theater, Mariinsky Opera, National Opera Theater of Ukraine, and Helikon-Opera. Expanding globally, she has sung at Musikverein in Vienna and made her Carnegie Hall debut in New York in 2019. She has also released several solo albums with Universal Music.
David Gvinianidze, a Georgian baritone, president and artistic director of the Talents of the World Foundation. He graduated with honors from the Tbilisi Music Academy. M. Paniashvili. As a second-year student, he becomes a presenter on Georgian television, speaking weekly in his own original program “Tenor,” which tells a wide audience about classical music, opera stars, composers, and performances. David Gvinianidze performs diverse roles on the stage of opera houses and prestigious concert halls around the world. The singer’s concert repertoire includes more than a hundred arias from world opera classics and song literature. The owner of a velvety “intoxicating” lyrical-dramatic baritone with a wide range and the textured appearance of a romantic “macho”, David Gvinianidze performs regularly at Carnegie Hall.
Olga Lisovska is a Ukrainian-born American coloratura soprano, arts educator, and cultural leader based in Newton, Massachusetts. A native of Kyiv, she holds a BA from Middlebury College, a political science certificate from Sciences Po in Paris, and vocal training from École Normale de Musique d’Alfred Cortot. Acclaimed for her vocal agility and brilliance, she has performed at Carnegie Hall, Jordan Hall, and with many opera houses. Signature roles include Norina (Don Pasquale), Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos), and Oksana (Cossack Beyond the Danube). Her performances have been featured on WBUR, NPR and Today Show, among other TV and radio appearances. Beyond the stage, she is founder of Music, Arts and Fashion Productions and co-founder of Sky Philanthropy, which provides humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Ms. Lisovska is a sought-after voice teacher and public speaking/diction coach, collaborating with Boston Symphony’s Tanglewood Chorus, New England Conservatory and Odyssey Opera.
