🎙️ What if your 3rd–5th grader got to become a reporter, filmmaker, and storyteller this fall?
This fall, Service Stars is launching Media Makers, an 8-week hands-on program where students will create a podcast and mini-documentary about a local nonprofit making a difference in our community.
Students will:
🎧 Learn the basics of podcasting and documentary filmmaking
🔎 Research a local nonprofit and the work they do
🎤 Develop questions and conduct interviews
📹 Capture stories and create their own short documentary
🎙️ Produce a podcast episode
🌟 Share what they’ve learned with the community
The goal isn't just to teach kids how to use a microphone or camera. It's to help them ask good questions, listen to other people, think critically, tell stories, and discover the people who are making their community a better place.
And they'll actually have something to show for it at the end.
📅 Mondays, 4:00–5:30 PM
📍 Service Stars — 75 Vernon St., Newton Corner
🎒 Grades 3–5
🗓️ 8 weeks, starting September 14
If you know a curious kid who loves asking questions, making things, being creative, or just wants to know how the world works, this could be a great fit.
