6th Annual Indigenous Peoples Day Newton: Medicines of the Lands – Healing Through Ancestral Plants

Join us for the 6th Annual Indigenous Peoples Day Newton!

On Monday, October 12, 2026, from 11:00 AM–5:00 PM, Indigenous Peoples Day Newton returns to Albemarle Park & Field in Newton for a free, family-friendly, Indigenous-led celebration.

🌿 2026 Theme: “Medicines of the Lands: Healing Through Ancestral Plants”

This year's celebration honors Indigenous relationships with plants, medicines, foodways, the land, and ancestral knowledge carried across generations.

Spend the day with Indigenous Tribal leaders, Elders, culture bearers, youth, artists, dancers, drummers, educators, and vendors from throughout the Northeast and beyond.

The celebration will feature:

• Indigenous drumming and traditional & contemporary dance
• Cultural presentations and demonstrations
• Traditional plant and medicine teachings
• Indigenous youth presentations
• Indigenous artists, makers & businesses
• Food vendors
• Children's and family activities
• Opportunities to learn directly from Indigenous Peoples
