Over the weekend the Newton Police responded to reports of dog bites, threats and an indecent assault at Cabot's Ice cream. The following are public excerpts from Newton Police log and represent a portion of the types of complaints and reports they receive. Newton Police caution that just because someone reports an incident, doesn't mean it actually happened the way they reported it. Dog bite: Someone reported a dog bite on Winswall Road.

Threats: Two reports of threats came into the police, including one at the Auburndale Commuter Rail Station on Woodland Ave. and another near Moldova and Watertown streets.

Fire: There was a report that a car caught fire on Boylston Ave.

Saturday, May 13

Lock your cars: At about 8 a.m. someone reported their car was broken into on Central Avenue. A bit later in the day someone reported their car was broken into near the corner of Bridge Street and Linwood Avenue. And around 2:30 p.m. someone else reported their car was broken into on Adams Avenue.

Creepy: Someone reported a suspicious person near the AAA on Needham Street around 1 p.m.

Raging against the machines: Someone reported a road rage incident near the corner of Beacon and Center Street at 5:44 p.m.

Sunday, May 14

Alarms: There were 12 reports of Burglary Alarms getting triggered across town, including at Brimmer and May, Eastern Bank, True Runner, and Countryside. (Police say they were all false alarms).

Indecent Assault?: Someone called police at 9:47 p.m. to report there may have been an indecent assault at Cabot's Ice Cream. (Police said this was reported publicly on their log in error).

Shoplifting: Someone reported a shoplifter or larceny at Shing Yee's Restaurant on Washington Street.
