A celebration of Gospel and Jewish Music to benefit Project Manna

Temple Emanuel and The Massachusetts Avenue Baptist Church unite their communities of Faith on a celebration of Gospel and Jewish Music

All proceeds support the church’s Project Manna hot meals program and food pantry to benefit the homeless and hungry

Gospel music echoes through the sanctuary, immediately followed by a beautiful rendition of a Naomi Shemer Medley. A one of a kind event, not to be missed, will unite two communities of faith through music.

Temple Emanuel of Newton and The Massachusetts Avenue Baptist Church of Cambridge will collaborate to present the 27th Annual Project Manna Concert on Tuesday April 12, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Temple Emanuel, 385 Ward St. Newton, MA.

This year’s event brings together choirs young and old to fill the room with inspiring and heartfelt music. Music groups will perform from local churches like the Massachusetts Avenue Baptist Church and Morning Star Baptist Church; local synagogues and Jewish Day Schools will perform as well from Gann Academy, Temple Shalom and Temple Emanuel; as well as the Boston Children’s Chorus. Project Manna is a true gathering of the community with a central goal in mind, to help those in need.

Proceeds from the concert support Project Manna, the Massachusetts Avenue Baptist Church’s hot meals program and food pantry. Each week, Project Manna provides nutritional assistance to more than 250 families. The annual concert was founded in 1989 by the late Rabbi Samuel Chiel and Reverend Howard McLendon, uniting their two communities of faith to benefit the homeless and hungry.
