Chestnut Hill Best Place to Be a Hockey Fan

Are you a hockey fan in Chestnut Hill? Think you’re a good one? Think it’s a great place to be if you are one?

WalletHub, according to some recent findings, is reporting that Chestnut Hill is among the best places in the country to be a hockey fan.

The personal finance site decided to delve ranking the sport and its fans, and how they compare throughout the country, particularly with the Stanley Cup Playoffs in gear. WalletHub, too, reported that NHL attendance, TV ratings and revenues are rising and the “obsession with hockey is growing.”

In its 2015’s Best & Worst Cities for Hockey Fans results, Chestnut Hill ranked at number two, coming in only behind Pittsburgh, PA, in the “best” list.

To identify which cities offer the best deals to hockey fans, WalletHub crunched the numbers for 74 of the largest U.S. cities using 18 key metrics, it reported.

The data to measure the results ranged from ticket prices to stadium accessibility to the performance level of the city’s teams.

Of the 74 cites that landed in the results, Boston was high on the list, at number 5, but Springfield, MA, was dead last - at number 74.
