'Combative' Restaurant Patron Arrested, Car Break-Ins: Newton's Weekend in Crime

Friday, Nov. 11

• Police responded to the 500 block of Crafts Street for a report of a past breaking and entering to a motor vehicle. The caller said his vehicle was entered sometime between 5 p.m. the previous evening and 8:30 a.m. that day.

Saturday, Nov. 12

• Police were dispatched to Pleasant Street for a report of a past breaking and entering to a motor vehicle. The caller stated that between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. someone entered her unlocked Jeep and rummaged through the vehicle. She reported nothing missing.

• A caller reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle on Parmenter Road. She said sometime overnight someone entered her unlocked car while it was parked in the driveway. The person reportedly entered the glove box and center console and strewed papers about. The caller said she was missing money in quarters.

• Police responded to a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle on Harding Street. The caller said sometime between 11 p.m. the previous night and 5 a.m. that morning an unknown person or persons entered the two unlocked cars in his driveway. Nothing appeared to be taken except for loose change.

• A caller said around 3 p.m. that day someone entered his unlocked vehicle out in front of his residence on Wyman Street. An iPad Air 2 was taken from the front passenger seat.

Sunday, Nov. 13

• A past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle was reported on Washington Street. The caller said she noticed someone had gone through her vehicle, but nothing was missing.

• Mikelly T. Viana, 37, of Acton, was arrested after allegedly causing a disturbance in a restaurant. According to police, officers made the decision to take her into custody as an incapacitated person. Police said the customers in the restaurant were in shock and uncomfortable with scenario, during which Viana allegedly resisted and swung her hands toward the officers. She was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
