Delays on the Pike After Truck Flips, Spilling Produce Onto the Highway

Butternut squash and other produce spilled out onto the highway after a crash on the Mass. Pike in Newton on Thursday.

Around noon, Massachusetts State Police reported that a truck had crashed on the Mass. Pike westbound at Exit 16.

The truck, on its side, was carrying produce. Two occupants were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As of 1:10 p.m., State Police said that two lanes and the ramp to Exit 16 were closed. Expect delays.
