Did You Know the Rival Teams Feast Together?

And before they rumble, they dine.

On Tuesday at noon, Mayor Setti Warren joins rival football clubs Newton North and Brookline for the thirty-first annual Thanksgiving football luncheon.

At the Brae Burn Country Club, the Rotary Clubs of Newton and Brookline host the coaches, players and cheerleaders from both programs “to celebrate the spirit of the Thanksgiving Day rivalry and to honor individuals who have demonstrated leadership and sportsmanship.”

The rivalry between Newton North High and Brookline High started back in 1894.

The Tigers take on Brookline for the Thanksgiving day game on Thursday, Nov. 26, at 10 a.m. at Parsons Field.
