Eggs Damage Paint: Newton Police Logs

Police received a number of reports of larcenies, a break in and some noise complaints around the city this weekend, in addition to the egg.

There were a number of larcenies, a couple break ins and some noise complaints around the city this weekend. The following is from Newton Police, who stress that just because someone reports an incident does not mean that's the way it happened. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Break in: A Gilbert Street resident called police to report their home was broken into.

Vandalism: Someone called police to report there was vandalism to a property on Parker Street.

Happening now?: Someone called to report it looked like someone was breaking into the Dunkin Donuts on Needham Street just after 8 p.m.

Saturday, May 20

Shh: Between midnight and 3 a.m. there were three calls reporting loud noise in the city, including on Boylston, near Pellegrini Playround and on Wittemore Road.

Bike stolen: Someone reported their bike missing after they parked it on Charlesbank Road.

Vandals: Two reports of vandalism came into the station, including one on Glastonbury Olval and Cannon Street.

Sunday, May 21

Break in: A Middle Street resident called to report their home was broken into and an iPad, Laptop, and powertools were stolen. A man told police they left their home at 10 p.m and returned just before 3 a.m. to find his backdoor open. He told police that inside, things had been moved and tossed around in every room in the house.

There's a lesson here: A Cannon Street resident called to report someone threw eggs at their home, causing damage to the paint.

Shots?: Someone called to report they thought they heard shots fired near Oldham Road at 3:23 a.m.. (Patch is requesting more info).

Larceny: Someone reported a larceny at a business on Walnut Street.

Assault: Someone called to report an assault near the corner of Adams Street and Lincoln Road at 7:28 p.m.

Fireworks: Someone called to report they heard fireworks at 9:07 p.m. near Concord Street.

Monday, May 22

Bikes stolen: Someone on Charlesbank Road reported two bikes stolen.

Attempted Break in: An Orchard Avenue resident called to report that a window on their back door appeared to be smashed. Police said everything seemed to be order and it didn't appear anyone made it inside the home.

Larcenies: Someone reported something stolen at the academy on Manet Road, later someone reported something missing at the Hammond Park condos, and then at the Papa Ginos on Needham Street.

Tuesday, May 23

Break in: A Braeland Avenue resident called to report that someone broke into his car while it was parked in the driveway overnight. He told police it was rummaged through, but it didn't appear anything was taken.
