Adobe After Effects is an industry standard for creating, editing and compositing visual effects and video. From concept to final output, it is used to express and enhance your vision. In this three week course you will be introduced to the basics of After Effects as well as exploring the wide range of possibilities this program has to offer. You will be guided through the process of importing varied assets (still images, movie clips, flash animations etc), animating and compositing these together with unique visual effects, and outputting a properly formatted final product. After completion you will be able to produce your own videos for use on the web, television, and film.

Nathan Smith has over 5 years of professional experience working in the television/web media production field. He received his master's degree in Broadcast Design and Motion Graphics from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2006. Since then he has worked as After Effects artist & editor for How2Heroes.com, an online instructional cooking website, a DVD motion menu designer for GammaRay Digital, and most recently as lead editor & motion graphics designer for an upcoming Adult Swim series Tight Bros. He also placed 2nd in Boston's 2009 Cut & Paste Motion Graphics Contest and 1st in the Savannah Music Festival TV commercial contest.
