arsenalARTS presents: 30 Under 30 featuring Newton artists Olivia Glennon and Evan Morse

WATERTOWN, MA -- arsenalARTS presents 30 Under 30:  A fresh, dynamic exhibition of young artistic talent in the Greater Boston area. The show features photography by Newton native Olivia Glennon and a marble sculpture titled Sleeping Man by current Newton resident Evan Morse.  The show opens October 4 and will continue on display until November 10, 2012, with a reception on October 18 from 5:30 - 7:30PM.  Gallery hours are Tuesday – Sunday, 12PM – 6PM.  The exhibit is free to the public. 

30 Under 30 presents a diverse look at emerging artistic talent in Massachusetts:  30 artists 30 years of age or younger.  With a large variety of media including painting, photography, glass,  light installation and sculpture, this show is designed to encourage a dialogue between the artists and their audience in its mix of styles, techniques and artists’ attitudes  and backgrounds.

Exhibitions Coordinator Aneleise Ruggles encourages the public to “discover the voices of the next generation of great artists!”

Six of the artists will be chosen to further investigate their point of view in a winter exhibit at the Arsenal Center.  30 Under 30 is generously supported by The Fuller Foundation, Inc., The NLT Foundation and Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Located in Watertown, MA, the Arsenal Center for the Arts is a vibrant multidisciplinary venue that houses the 380-seat Charles Mosesian Theater and a 90-seat Black Box theater.  Regular offerings include gallery exhibits, art classes and workshops for children and adults, musical concerts (from jazz to contemporary) and literary/art discussions.  A fine arts and crafts retail shop, artist studios, and three resident companies (New Repertory Theatre, Watertown Children’s Theatre & The Quilters’ Connection) share the space.
