Art Exhibit Reception: Emergence by Louise Weinberg

Come to the Newton Free Library for the reception of the art exhibit Emergence by Louise Weinberg, which will be on display this month in the Gallery.  The Emergence series reflects Louise Weinberg’s longstanding interest in the subject of the self and the process of its development over the span of a lifetime.  In this series, the image of the sphere is a metaphor for the self. The space in which the spheres exist appears celestial and suggest that there is a human drive to explore – both what is inside of one's self (internal space) as well as what is outside of self. These different aspects of self emerge and recede over a lifetime; some may remain hidden, only to unexpectedly appear in the second half of life.

Emergence will be on view in the Gallery from January 4-30. The public is invited to an opening reception which will be held on Wednesday, January 4 at 7:00 pm.
