Come to the Newton free Library for the art exhibit reception of How Convenient! Boston Bodegas and the Immigrant Experience by Peter Bates, which will be on display in the gallery this month. Bates' pieces depict the personalities and aspirations of immigrant owners of bodegas and convenience stores in Boston's neighborhoods along with the unique architectural structures (many of which are former carriage houses) and how they look at twilight.
