Come to the Newton Free Library for the art exhibit reception for Kellie Weeks' Psychological Landscapes, which will be on display in the Gallery from October 4 to 27.
Weeks’ paintings are an abstract, psychological approach to portraying landscapes or, in her words, “maps to one’s soul [that] are forever changing in color and form as is the mind and nature alike.” Using encaustic, dry pigments, sand, graphite and shellac, she creates atmospheres where forces collide with one another, colors compete with each other and things are submerging.
