Come to the Newton Free Library for an author talk with Jay Raymond about his book Streamlined Irons. Raymond first took notice of streamlined irons in the early 1980s and then sought them out for 25 years. Streamlined Irons is the result of his having been commissioned to produce a book about them. The book is filled with stunning photography, an index full of facts and figures, and four essays on the history and aesthetics of the irons of that time.
The talk will be followed by a book signing.
Be sure to visit the display of streamlined irons which will be on view in the library’s three first-floor cases from October 4 through 31.
