Concert: Hickory Strings

Come to the Newton Free Library for a performance by Hickory Strings, a band who blend elements of jazz, bluegrass, classical, world and folk music into a unique brand of modern American chamber music. The program will include original music inspired by jazz, classical and traditional music from around the world, as well as American roots music. Among the compositions will be selections from all three of their recordings and new, yet to be released pieces. The members of Hickory Strings are Geoff Brown, mandolin, guitar, composer, Mark Whitaker, banjo and Gian Pangaro, double bass.
