Concert: Remembering September 11, 2001, David Hagan Performs

On September 11, come to the Newton Free Library for a musical tribute of classical works which embody the spirit and memory of September 11, 2011, performed by pianist David Hagan.

Included in the performance will be Beethoven's Sixth Symphony, which encompasses an emotional range spanning peacefulness, terror and finally, affirmation; also, Schumann's Davidsbündlertänze, the first edition of which he prefaced with the old saying, "In each and every age joy and sorrow are mingled; remain honest in joy, and meet sorrow with courage."
