Families, Learn About the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art

As part of the Newton Free Library’s summer reading program, One World, Many Stories, families with children 3 and up are invited to the library for a special program where they will be able to visit with staff from the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, which is featuring an exhibition of the work of author and artist Tomi Ungerer this summer.  Also, listen to librarians from the Children's Room reading some of Mr. Ungerer's stories and participate in a project led by an art educator from the museum who will guide participants in creating moving sculpture inspired by the works of this marvelous illustrator.

There will also be maps and information available to help you plan your family's trip to this museum in Massachusetts' Pioneer Valley, where Newton patrons are invited to enjoy free admission from Saturday, September 24 to Sunday, October 2 by showing their Newton library card on arrival.
