Festal Evensong at Church of the Redeemer

The Church of the Redeemer Chamber Choir will sing the liturgy of Evensong on Sunday, February 12th at 5:00 pm in the Nave.

This Festal Evensong is in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the accession to the throne of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Supreme Governor of the Church of England.

To help mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and her governance over the Church of England,  this Evensong will be dedicated to her, and will include, most notably, Charles Hubert Hastings Parry’s “I was glad when they said unto me” and George Frideric Handel’s “Zadok the Priest”.  Also included will be “Praise my soul, the King of Heaven”, reputed to be Her Majesty’s favorite hymn.   As an added bonus, the “l’académie” orchestra will be joining us for this service.

Sacred music events are always without charge; there will be a wine & cheese reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
