Forum to Discuss the States of Jewish Belief

Three renowned Jewish thought leaders will discuss the range of Jewish beliefs – from the fervently traditional to the decidedly secular – and existence (or not) of a core belief system at a forum titled The States of Jewish Belief at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center in Newton on Thursday, March 29 at 7:30pm.

Art Green, Rector of the Rabbinical School of Hebrew College, is one of the world’s preeminent authorities on Jewish thought and spirituality. Allan Nadler, Director of the Drew University Jewish Studies Program, is recognized for his critical analysis of Hasidic Judaism. Avi Shafran is Agudath Israel of America’s Director of Public Affairs and is Editor-at-Large of Ami Magazine, a weekly publication serving the Orthodox Jewish community. The discussion will be moderated by Leonard Fein, an author and essayist whose columns have appeared in The New York Times, The New Republic, and The Nation.
