Come to the Newton Free Library to travel to another time and place with Italian-born storyteller Maria Cardarelli Puzzanghero as she recounts the true story of Katja, centered in a tiny medieval town in the Apennine Mountains during World War II. This thrilling tale from Puzzanghero's childhood "describes the difficult and dangerous life of an interned Jewish family, and the courage and resourcefulness of the Italian people who helped save them from the Nazis."
A question and answer period will follow.
