Victor Kaufman and Rudi Smekal grow up friends in Vienna although they come from very different backgrounds. The Nazis change all their relationship forever, and a plane crash ensures that life will never be the same. A woman, who knows both of them quite well, gets in the middle and must make a moral choice.
