                      New England Mobile Book Fair

       Kicks off “Salutes Series” with “Salutes the Arts”

 

                   Series launches March 10 & 11, 2012

 

Newton Highlands, MA - (February 21, 2012) – The New England Mobile Book Fair, New England’s largest independent book seller, “Salutes the Arts” on Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 11:00AM to 4:00PM.  The exciting two-day event launches the new “Salutes Series,” and highlights local artists as they display and demonstrate their works of art.  The kickoff event will be sure to leave guests in awe of the amazing talent found in the artists of their own neighborhoods.

 

Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase and take home their favorite works of art, as the artists will be selling pieces on site at the event. A portion of the proceeds from all art sold at “Salutes the Arts” will be shared by the New England Mobile Book Fair to benefit the local arts councils.

 

“We are very happy to be launching the new ‘Salutes Series’ here at the New England Mobile Book fair,” said Tom Lyons, President and CEO of the NEMBF. “We strive to continuously provide the residents of surrounding communities with the opportunity to experience literature and the world around us in exciting new ways, starting with ‘Salutes the Arts’.”

 

Visitors to the “Salutes the Arts” event will view a wide variety of works from the communities’ top painters and illustrators, Artists include:

Featured artists will cover the canvas of the industry with oils, pastels, acrylics, collages, black and white, watercolors, landscape and still life paintings. In addition to taking in the displays, adults and children will enjoy watching painting on site, demonstrations and building a diorama. Whether you prefer abstract, realistic or anything in between, “Salutes the Arts” has something for everyone!
