Jim Perkins grew up in a musical family in Cambridge, MA. His mother studied with the great French pianist Robert Casadesus. Jim Studied at the Aspen Music School with Edith Oppens who was professor of music at the Mannes School of Music in New York City. He has also studied with Gabriel Chodos who is head of the New England Conservatory Piano department. Jim occasionally studies with Eda Sylum who is on the Longy Music School music facility in Cambridge, MA. Jim performs the piano regularly in New England and teacher privately.
