Join us for a special musical performance by renowned pianist Robert Wyatt. Wyatt has performed throughout the world, garnering critical acclaim for his sensitive and colorful solo and chamber music recitals. Featured on NPR and PBS, he has performed at the Kennedy Center, the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., Steinway Hall in New York, and Boston's Jordan Hall and Museum of Fine Arts. His performance this afternoon will celebrate the intertwined lives of George Gershwin and Scott Joplin--the nation's two most-popular and most-beloved composers--who were the sons of a Russian immigrant and a freed slave, respectively. In a way, it's the American story, told in jubilant songs.
