Come to the Newton Free Library for a screening of the documentary Beyond Belief, in memory of the 10th anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001.
Beyond Belief tells the story of Susan Retik and Patti Quigley, who, after their husbands were killed by the terrorist attacks, travelled to Afghanistan and help empower Afghan widows whose lives had been ravaged by decades of war, poverty and oppression – factors they considered to be the root causes of terrorism.
The screening will be followed by Q&A led by Susan Retik. The program is cosponsored by the Newton Human Rights Commission and Newton Dialogues on Peace and War.
