Waterworks Wednesday: Kate Bowditch, "Love That Dirty Water - The Charles River Clean-Up"

Kate Bowditch, Director of Projects at Charles River Watershed Association, will tell the story of the Charles River Clean-up.  Starting in the days of “that dirty water,” made famous by the Standells, CRWA has worked with many partners to protect and improve the Charles River, today the cleanest urban river in America.  Bowditch will cover little-known stories like the creation of the Natural Valley Storage Areas in the 1970’s to protect greater Boston from floods, as well as explain the importance of the Boston Harbor cleanup on the Charles.  The talk will include a discussion of the Muddy River, and its important relationship to the Charles. Please RSVP at 617-277-0065 or info@waterworksmuseum.org.  Fee: $5.
