Then join Youth pro Musica: The Greater Boston Youth Chorus!
In the past two seasons, YpM members have appeared in a world premiere and made a professional recording with other choruses, including one from Germany, performed "Carmina Burana" with Chorus pro Musica at Jordan Hall in Boston, and performed at Faneuil Hall at a fundraiser for a charity called "Pitching in for Kids". In June 2011, YpM went on tour to Canada, performing at famous venues in Montreal and was hosted by the world-renowned boy choir Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal, YpM's guests in 2008. If any of this sounds exciting to you, we encourage your son or daughter, nephew or niece, grandson or granddaughter to come and audition.
Auditions will be scheduled in 15-minute blocks on Tuesday, September 13 from 6-9 PM with our artistic director Robert Barney (other times may be arranged by appointment). Formal musical training is not a prerequisite for the younger singers, but some prior musical experience is necessary for admittance to the high school division. The divisions of the chorus often perform together. All auditions and most rehearsals take place at the First Unitarian Society in Newton, located at 1326 Washington Street in West Newton (directions here: http://www.youthpromusica.org/directions.asp).

Training Chorus – Tuesdays 4:30 - 5:30 pm:
• Boys & girls, approximately grades 2 - 5
Repertory Chorus – Tuesday, 6:00 – 7:30 pm:
• Girls & boys with unchanged voices, approximately grades 5 - 8
High School Chorale – Tuesday, 7:45 – 9:15 pm:
• Girls grades 9 - 12, boys with changed voices through grade 12
