Youth pro Musica Training Chorus Auditions, Oct 3, 4-6 pm

Youth pro Musica, the Greater Boston Youth Chorus, announces auditions for its Training Chorus on Monday, October 3, from 4-6 PM with YpM's Training Chorus director Brian Hagar-McKee  at First Unitarian Society, 1326 Washington Street in West Newton.

YpM's Training Chorus is open to boys and girls in Grades 2-5, and require no formal musical training.  Auditions will be scheduled in 15-minute blocks on Monday, October 3, from 4-6 PM with YpM's Training Chorus director Brian Hagar-McKee  (other times may be arranged by appointment).  The Training Chorus rehearses on Tuesday afternoons from 4:30-5:30 at First Unitarian Society in West Newton (directions here:  http://www.youthpromusica.org/directions.asp).

In the past two seasons, YpM members have appeared in a world premiere and made a professional recording with other choruses, including one from Germany, performed "Carmina Burana" with Chorus pro Musica at Jordan Hall in Boston, and performed at Faneuil Hall at a fundraiser for a charity called "Pitching in for Kids".  In June 2011, YpM went on tour to Canada, performing at famous venues in Montreal and was hosted by the world-renowned boy choir Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal, YpM's guests in 2008. If any of this sounds exciting to you, Youth pro Musica encourages your son or daughter, nephew or niece, grandson or granddaughter to come and audition.

If you would like to audition or simply learn more about YpM, please contact Allison Jones at 617-666-6087 or email auditions@youthpromusica.org.
