Eversource Power Outage Affects Hundreds In Newton

NEWTON, MA — Approximately 500 Eversource customers were without electricity Wednesday afternoon due to power outage in Newton.

As of 1 p.m., 500 Newton customers were without power. According to Eversource, the outage was caused by equipment damage. It was first reported at approximately 11 a.m. The majority of the outage was resolved by around 2 p.m., however fewer than five customers were reported to still be without power at 3:15 p.m. Earlier Wednesday, more than 400 Boston residents were without power due to an outage caused by maintenance. The company could not be reached directly for comment.
