Fire on Elliot Street in Newton

The electrical fire broke out in NSTAR equipment, the fire department said.

A fire broke out on Elliot Street Tuesday afternoon.

The Newton Fire Department said it was a small electrical fire that started in NSTAR equipment. The blaze was quickly extinguished.

Newton police said part of the street between Route 9 and Circuit Avenue were closed so crews could extinguish the fire.
