A tennis match, a local film festival and a parade for Boston College hockey heroes.

1. Boston College parade. will hold for its men's ice hockey team, . The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Conte Forum, proceed through campus, up Commonwealth Avenue and end in O'Neil Square. Celebration speeches will take place at 6 p.m. followed by an autograph session.

3. Go Lions! The girls' tennis team will face Waltham High today in a home match at 4 p.m.

4. Local film festival. A free, local film festival will be showing two films today with Newton ties, including a film on the Norumbega Park and Myrtle Baptist Church. A screening of Return to Norumbega will be held in the Milas Hall Auditorium at  in Needham at 1 p.m. and Myrtle Baptist Church: Pilar of the Community will be featured at 's Wilson Chapter at 6 p.m. For more information, . 

5. Last day of school approved. Last night, the Newton School Committee unanimously approved of June 15 to be the last day of school for Newton Public School students.
