4. Newton History Series. The and Historic Newton will present the last program in this year's history series tonight at 7 p.m. A New Refinement: the Durant-Kenrick House in the Context of Colonial Housing will feature Boston College Professor of Fine Arts Jeffery W. Howe, who will talk about 18th century architecture and colonial culture here in Newton. The program will be held at the library and is free and open to the public.
5. Newton Democratic City Committee leadership elections. The Newton Democratic City Committee will elect its leaders (chair/vice chair) for the next two years at tonight's meeting. Although only NDCC members can vote, the meeting is open to the public. Current NDCC Co-Chairs Tim Snyder and Martina Jackson are running for reelection against Shawn Fitzgibbons and Hannah Banks, who are running for chair and vice chair.
