Five Things You Need to Know Today: April 15
A local road race, a bike drive and a walk in support of open swimming at Crystal Lake.

1. Heartbreak Hill Road Race. The will kick off today at noon. The race, which starts at , is a one-mile run for athletes of all ages. Participants can choose to take part in the one-mile road race or Mayor Setti Warren's family walk. Note: Commonwealth Avenue between Homer Street and Centre Street will be closed between 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. for the race.
2. Crystal Lake walk. Members of the group Open Crystal Lake at Crystal Lake. Those who are interested in participating can meet at Cronin's Cove (near the intersection of Lake Avenue and Beacon Street) at 5 p.m.
3. Heat warning issued for tomorrow's race. The Boston Athletic Association has issued a heat warning for tomorrow's marathon. Inexperienced runners are encouraged not to run and experienced runners are encouraged not to try for personal best times. The BAA is offering deferment to the 2013 race for any official runner. .

4. Bikes Not Bombs. A bike drive will be held at the today to benefit the organization Bikes Not Bombs. A $10 donation per bike is requested to defray costs for shipping bikes oversees. The drive will be held at the church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
5. Free concert. The will hold a free concert this afternoon at 2 p.m. with pianist Thomas Dawkins. The program will include selections by Ravel, Debussy and Satie.
