1. Franco funeral Mass. for Boston College student and West Newton resident Franco Garcia, . The Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Church, 28 Commonwealth Ave., Newton ( campus) at 11 a.m.

Subcommittee meetings. The Board of Aldermen Public Facilities, Public Safety & Transportation and Programs & Services Committee will meet tonight at 7:45 p.m. in rooms 209, 202 and 222, respectfully. 5. Financial literacy at the library. The will continue its "Financial Literacy at the Library" series tonight with a program titled "Financing Fundamentals: Car Loans, Home Loans and Equity Lines of Credit." The program will include information on loaning and leasing cars, renting or buying a house and details on mortgages. The program starts at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
