An arts festival, a chance to walk with the Newton Conservators and an event to honor Tom Concannon.

1. NCA honors Tom Concannon. The Newton Cultural Alliance will honor former Newton Mayor Tom Concannon today with the inaugural "Culture and Community Award" during the NCA's Building Culture and Community Gala. Food, drinks and entertainment will all be a part of the evening, co-hosted by Steve and Barbara Grossman. The event will be held at in Newton Lower Falls and starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $125. 2. Boston College Arts Festival. Today is the third and final day for the Arts Festival, taking place on the school's Chestnut Hill campus. A number of arts, theatre and music events are on the schedule today, including a number of family-friendly events. .
3. Medication take back day. Clean out your medicine cabinet this weekend and dispose of items properly at the during a medication take-back day today from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

4. Walk with the Newton conservators. The Newton Conservators will hold a walk today to check out some spring migrant birds along the Charles River in Newton and Waltham. Meet at the back parking lot of the Waltham Watch Factory, 183 Crescent St, Waltham at 10 a.m.
5. Tag sale. The Silver Newtones will hold a tag sale today to benefit the singing group. The sale will be held at the United Methodist Church, 430 Walnut St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
