A School Budget presentation, a possible MBTA vote and the Newton Senior Center is closed today.

1. Newton Senior Center. The Senior Center will be closed until further notice, according to the Newton Seniors website. The center was closed earlier this week due to boiler issues and a voicemail at the center said Tuesday that "problems with the building" will keep the center closed on Wednesday. Until the center reopens, Senior Center and SHINE tax assistance appointment should proceed to the MIS training room 220 on the second floor of . Visitors who have an appointment with the Senior Services Clinical Social Worker should go to the IT Department in Room 107 on the first floor of City Hall. Residents can call 617-796-1660 to check and see when the building will re-open, or check back with Newton Patch.
2. School budget presentation. The School Department will present tonight to the Board of Aldermen's Programs & Services and Finance Committees tonight at 7 p.m. in the chamber at .

4. Say What? The Newton South High School Speech & Debate Team will give a team showcase performance tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the lecture hall. The team recently took home second place at the state finals.
