2. Schools closed. Newton Public Schools will be closed today for Good Friday. If you're looking for Good Friday services, check out our events calendar.

3. Sobriety checkpoint. According to a press release issued this week, the Massachusetts State Police will hold a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in Middlesex County tonight into tomorrow. Please drink responsibly and drive safe!

4. Off-leash group. The Parks & Recreation Off-Leash Area Working Group will meet today at 9:30 a.m. in room 202 at .
