School Committee meets, the senior center is open again and yard waste collection resumes.

1. Yard Waste. Yard Waste collection resumes today in Newton. The yard waste must be placed curbside on your collection day no later than 7 a.m. or as early as 4 p.m. the day before. The yard waste must be in brown paper bags or barrels clearly labeled as "yard waste only." For more information, visit the city website on yard waste collection.

3. Senior Center open. After it was closed all last week due to boiler and building issues, the will be open again today, according to the city's website.

4. Go Tigers! The boys' varsity baseball team will face Braintree today in a home game at 3:45 p.m. The game will be held at Albemarle Field.
