Five Things You Need to Know Today: Aug. 10
The Friday Farmers' Market, a free concert and movie and local theatre.

1. Free music and movie. It's Friday, and that means another free movie and concert at the in Newton Highlands. Starting at 6 p.m. the Soft Touch Dance Band (big band music) will perform. After the concert, there will be a free showing of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. Both the concert and the movie will take place outside the center, but will be moved into the gym if it rains. Admission is free and snacks/drinks will be sold during the shows.
2. Farmers' market. The will set up shop today at from noon - 5 p.m.
3. New skate park. Have you tried at the ? The park is open from noon - 3 p.m. for kids 12 and under and 3 p.m. - 8 p.m. for all ages. Lessons are also available daily from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

4. Charles River advisory. The Charles River Watershed Association , particularly the sections near Newton and the .
