1. Recreation and Open Space Plan. The Planning and Development Board will meet tonight at the to continue discussion of the update to the city's Recreation and Open Space Plan. The committee is considering the plan prior to submitting it to Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. The public is welcome to comment on the plan through Aug. 14. Tonight's meeting will take place in the library's Druker Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.
2. Golf tournament. The Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce will hold its today at . The tournament kicks off at 11:30 a.m.

4. More races for a local Olympian. Newton native Stu McNay for two more races in the men's 470 sailing event. Race seven begins at 7 a.m. EST (noon London time) and race eight begins at 8:15 a.m. EST (1:15 p.m. London time). McNay is currently ranked at No. 19 (out of 27 teams).
5. Babe Ruth baseball. The Newton Babe Ruth baseball semifinals kick off today at Albemarle Field (250 Albemarle Road). The first game (lowest seed vs. highest seed) will be held at 5:30 p.m. and the second game (middle two teams) will be held at 8:15 p.m.
