Five Things You Need to Know Today: July 4

Happy Fourth of July!

1. Newton's Fourth of July celebration. The city of Newton will hold a day-long festival and fair today at the Russell J. Halloran Recreation Complex on Albemarle Road. The event will run fro 10 a.m. - 10 p.m., with the annual fireworks show at 9 p.m. In addition, a special kids morning will be held at the at 10 a.m.  

2. Parking restrictions. There will be a number of parking restrictions in place today for the Fourth of July festivities in Newton. Read through before heading out. If you're looking to park in metered spots, though, they are free today.

3. City Hall, library, post offices closed. Some stores will be open at the owner's discretion. Also, trash/recycling will be delayed one day.
