A couple of school fairs, a book sale and free fishing.

1. Last day for A Sleeping Country. South Stage's final production of the 2011-2012 school year, , will wrap up with its final performance tonight at 7:30 p.m. The show will take place at and tickets are $8.
2. Book sale. The Friends of the Newton Free Library will hold a book sale today from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the .
3. Free fishing. Officials at the Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game have declared this weekend free fishing weekend, which means you do not have to purchase freshwater or saltwater fishing permits to fish in any of the Commonwealth’s fresh or saltwater waterways. 4. Tournament play. A number of Newton teams will continue playing in the MIAA spring tournament today. The boys tennis team will face Weymouth today at 3 p.m. in Newton; the baseball team will face Saint John's Prep at 4 p.m. at St. John's; the Newton North softball team will face Methuen at 4 p.m. at Albemarle Field in Newton; the softball team will face Lynnfield at 4 p.m. in Lynnfield; and the Newton North boys lacrosse will face Billerica today at 6 p.m. in Billerica.
5. School fairs. Both and School will hold fairs today at each school. The Cabot fair, which runs from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., will include a number of raffles, games, food, pony rides, a huge yard sale and more. The Lincoln-Eliot fair will kick off at 11 a.m. and feature much of the same, including a moon bounce, bake sale, raffles and more.
